This is so beautiful, it hurts! I can't believe this is 66 years old. I wish my parents sounded this great ...
Flawless pressing, outstanding music. Not sure if I like the voice better than the trumpet. It's crazy how bad I want to pick up a trumpet now!

Stellar! Just amazing! Clean, flat and flawless pressing. Dynamic with a nice sound stage. Audiophile quality.! Move over "Music Matters". The "Tone Poet" releases are as good but without the high price tag! The sound is full, warm, rich and expansive. This one was done the right way!

I can only agree with the other reviewers here. This reissue is outstanding sonically and a real joy to listen to!

On the spine of this release it says ”Blue Note STEREO”, however upon listening it clearly sounds like it’s mono, at least to my ears. Even Joe Harley himself (as pointed out by another user on this site) apparently stated that mono masters were used for the transfer. The stereo marking only appears on the spine and nowhere else on the release, and I suspect that it’s incorrectly labelled. Should any information about this discrepancy be added to the notes for clarification? Any suggestions?

Best version you will probably ever hear of this album, enough said.
My copy has a few pops on two side B tracks sadly though. Overall side B sounds sonically inferior too I think, even though it has the classics. Recorded at a different date Im told.

I have most of the Tone Poet releases and sonically this one is near the top of a great list. Up there with the Music Matters releases in overall quality.

From Joe Harley:
"We quickly determined that previous attempts did not use the original master mono tapes. Through the incredible help of Jack Arenas at Capitol Records we located the ACTUAL mono masters and, of course, THAT is what we’ll be using for the Tone Poet 2020 transfer of this magnificent album."

Don't waste your time with ANY other pressing of this to date, this is absolutely the best version. Blows the original 50s pressings out of the water too.

I cried when I listened to this record. I'm a big fan of the Tone Poet series and own a handful of titles from the series. The amount of detail put into this reissue is breathtaking. You'll hear things in this recording that you've never heard before. Can't recommend this record enough. If you're even slightly considering this record, just go ahead and buy it--you don't be disappointed.

Great pressing, perfectly flat, glossy, sonically amazing. Good job by Kevin Gray on this mastering and everyone at RTI. Sleeve is laminated, and made of heavy sturdy cardboard. Recommend this to anyone.
